The new device now consists of a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2960. There aren’t any notches on the display so you won’t need to worry about them and instead, the screen features the bezel-less design that shows the 18:5:9 screen ratio. The pixel density of the device is 516 ppi and the display is protected with Gorilla Glass 5 to resist scratches that can occur accidentally. The smartphone comes powered with the Exynos 9810 Octa-core processor and the device features 8GB of RAM to support the latest Android 8.1 Oreo for a smooth workflow. Interestingly, there will be a 128GB storage model and a 512GB storage variant, except for the fact that the 128GB model comes with 6GB RAM instead. Both the variants bring support for MicroSD card expansion.

Galaxy Note 9 The smartphone consists of a dual-lens camera, both featuring 12MP shooters but comes with different apertures. The wide-angle 12mm shooter comes with a variable f1.5 to f2.4 aperture and the 52mm lens comes with f2.4 aperture. The main camera also comes with optical image stabilization and phase detection AF. The front camera consists of an 8MP shooter with f1.7 aperture. While the main camera can record 4K videos at 60fps, the front camera can record 1440p videos at 30fps. Another new addition is the stereo speakers on the Note 9 that brings in an immersive audio experience on the go. For security, users will be able to use the iris scanner on the front and a fingerprint scanner on the rear side. The new S-Pen is designed to be much smarter than all the previous generations. The pen can now double as a remote shutter for the smartphone’s camera. The S-Pen also features a range of 10 meters and has a battery life of about 30 minutes. Speaking of which, the Galaxy Note 9 now comes with a 4000 mAh battery with fast charge support via its USB Type-C port.

The S-Pen has always been the main feature of the Note series of devices, and that’s one of the main ways to distinguish the device from competitor offerings. The S-Pen started off from a device that’s used to just write content and evolved into something that allows users to create far more. You will now be able to take selfies and group pictures, pause or play videos and more with the S-Pen.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will come in lavender purple, ocean blue, and midnight black colors. The smartphone is now available for preorders. The 128GB version is priced at AED 3699 and 512GB variant for AED 4599. The new smartphones will be available in all retail stores from August 30th, 2018.
