Nikon Middle East FZE has officially announced the COOLPIX P1000 digital camera with 125x optical zoom for enhanced usability and features great photographic performance for high-quality images.
“Placing our optical expertise and technological knowledge in this new COOLPIX camera is to place the impressive power of imaging in the hands of our users. Perfect for super-telephoto photography, be it for birding, wildlife, or celestial bodies, the new P1000 endows our users with streamlined operability and high resolution quality that will undoubtedly impress.” says Narendra Menon, Managing Director, Nikon Middle East FZE.
The 125× optical zoom lens of the COOLPIX P1000 covers an incredible range of focal length from the wide-angle 24mm and can be extended to the super-telephoto range of 3000mm equivalent. The Super Extra-low Dispersion (ED) and ED lens elements, which is a part of the NIKKOR lens, offers superior compensation for chromatic aberration. The camera is aided with the newly improved EXPEED image processor to achieve superior image quality and reduce image noise. The 16MP image sensor is based on the 1 by 2.3-inch sensor size. Furthermore, the Dual Detect Optical VR provides a level of vibration reduction up to 5.0-stop in shutter speed, thereby reducing shakes and blurs. The camera also features a 2359k-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and a control ring that can be used to manually adjust the focus and white balance setting, and a dedicated focus mode selector that enables the user to change the focus mode at will gripping the camera. The camera is also capable of recording 4K videos at 30p. The frames from the recorded UHD movies can also be saved as still images in high resolution.
The camera also features a 3.2-inch TFT LCD vari-angle monitor so users will be able to shoot images in different angles and unleash their creative skills. The camera also brings support for Nikon’s exclusive NRW (RAW) format. There is also the COOLPIX Picture Control and the creative mode that helps to achieve ideal images with simple expressions. You also get to record Superlapse and time-lapse movies and the SnapBridge feature that lets users easily transfer images to a smart device.
While the official local pricing has not been announced yet, the Nikon COOLPIX P1000 is stated to be $999 for the international markets (approx AED 3669).
